This is not materially different from Josef Mengele. The concept is to deliberately expose people to serious harm so you can gather more data on what you already know will hurt them. It's not some big coincidence the Nuremberg Code expressly prohibits everything resembling this kind of "science."

I'm not sure I've seen it mentioned elsewhere, but LLMs use so many em dashes likely because they were trained on a vast quantity of stolen science fiction and fantasy books (especially indie pub work). Its a well-known joke amongst SFF writers that we overuse em dashes. They stole it from us.

Created by Meta... they used pirated books to train Llama. So Ingram Spark, the home of indie authors is okay with charging us for a service built off of our stolen work?
