I just uploaded the new v3 #gridfinity 20 bin case design to #makerworld. The updated design is slimmer, and trims about 14% off the material requirement for a 6U tall case, compared with the v2.3 case. You can find it at the link below:

The prototypes are done and seem to work well. Now I just need to polish the 3mf profile, and a few other related things, before the updated design can be uploaded.
A case which holds 20 gridfinity bins (with a height of 6U). The case is shown closed, and has two latches and a handle. The image shows another 20 bin Gridfinity bin case (for 9U height bins), open. The case has a negative grid with holes for magnets, which help to align or keep the individual Gridfinity bins in place. This image shows the 6U version of the 20 bin Gridfinity case. This case also has a TPU printed gasket. The case is open, and fully loaded with various sizes and types of Gridfinity bins.

I've heard several suggestions that some of my case designs need a diet, and I agree. I finally had some time to have a go at slimming down my 20 bin #gridfinity case, and so far I like the results. The pics shows the new lid, compared to the current design. It's still being printed, so no ETA.

It has been a lot of work to finish this project, but I finally posted an update to the X1/P1 series Spares Case. It's now on version 4.0, thanks to the help and feedback from the community. You can find it at the link below:

The updated case includes a new design option, redesigned bins, more options for building it, a new gasket design, and a hidden Apple Airtag holder. I just posted up a few different types of mounts for the IKEA Skådis boards. These mounts allow the holes (or pilot holes) to be drilled through with the mounts attached to the boards, which removes a good deal of the layout work normally involved. There's also a 3M Command Strip light duty option.
After installing the mounts, just drill though them to make the pilot holes (or the final holes). Next install either #6 or M4 flat head screws. The mount with the M4 screw installed. The head of the screw should be flush with the top of the mount. Finally a cover is snapped over the mount to finish the install.

For all the Voron builders and owners looking for a place to put all their printer related stuff, I'm modifying my design for an X1C/P1S spares case to work with other printers, including Vorons. I'm finishing up printing and testing it, but so far it's working OK. ETA is ~ 1w

While our country is falling into a dystopian surveillance state, I decided to get in on the action by updating my Tapo C120 camera "wall wart" mount. The cable no longer has to weave through the retaining rings, but it's otherwise unchanged.

I updated the single color Dummy 13 Astronaut with a new helmet design which should not require glue to assemble. It's taken a lot of testing to get it working right, but I'm finally happy with it. It is available over on MakerWorld.

A Dummy 13 astronaut in the foreground gently taps on the AT-ST walker droid with a wrench, in a futile effort to "fix" it's glitchy wifi signal. While in the background, it's team leader is stunned to witness the abduction of their sole source of moon milk, "Old Bessie-lon" by an extraterrestrial cattle rustler. Back on Earth, it was decided by the NASA administrators that "Old Bessie-lon" actually wandered away into a cloud of moon-gas, and the databanks of both Dummy 13's were wiped. It was reported that "Old Bessie-lon" was found several days later, grazing in a farmers alfalfa field in Texas. The farmer reported that "Old Bessie-lon" is now able to communicate telepathically, and has asked for more alfalfa and a bell, however those reports have not been confirmed. This image was recovered and shared by an anonymous source. The truth is out there... The stripe part of the helmet now snaps into place. The visor also snaps into place, so no glue is required. I've been working with a Voron R2.4 builder who had some ideas on improvements to my remix of RyanDam's Cable Ducts. The ducts were reworked with new ziptie mounts and snap in endcaps, which are now updated:

The new snap-in end caps for the ducts. There are three styles available, with the one shown (slotted), a logo version and a plain (fully closed) version. In the spirit of the contest (though it wont count 😜), here are some pics of my current 3D printing project:
A spares case for the new Bambu H2D 3D printer. There are two cases shown, which hold a number of hotends, cutters, wipers and other spares. A close up of one of the bottom shells of the H2D spares case. There are three separate modules, which can be swapped out to hold various items. The module on the lower left can be replaced with a compartment. Other modules may be added, once the design is tested and released.

Can't afford the new flagship Bambu Labs H2D 3D Printer due to the tariffs? Neither can I :-)

But thanks to some amazing help from a community member, that won't stop me from working on a design for an H2D spares case! It still needs to be tested, so I don't have an ETA yet.

There is a new addition to my 3D Printed Gridfinity Watch Case collection. This one holds a larger watch, and incorporates a full TPU liner and a modular latch option. Available over on MakerWorld:

A 3D printed watch case, which holds a single, large stainless steel dive watch with a chunky metal band. The watch has a round dial and a thick bezel with a thin knurled edge. The watch is on a 3D printed holder, and sits in a case which is opened up to display the watch. The case sits on the ground which is covered with medium sized river rocks. Another image of the 3D printed watch case, similar to the previous image, but zoomed out. The hex pattern of the TPU liner can be seen in more detail in this zoomed out image. An image of the back of the 3D printed watch case, which is closed. The back of the case has a chunky hinge with three fingers on the lid of the case, which match with two fingers on the base of the case. The hinge is held together with M3 screws. The latch is closed and utilizes two U shaped pieces which are connected with a 30mm M3 screw, and mounted to the case using a 20mm M3 screw.

I updated my Bambu Labs X1/P1 Spares Box, which is now up to v3.0. It's been a really fun project, and has benefited a lot from the excellent suggestions from folks who use the cases.

The new X1/P1 Spares case, which is a rectangular 3D printed rugged case with latches and a handle. The case is designed to hold spares for the Bambu X1 or P1 Series 3D printers, and includes dedicated holders for hotends, cutters and wipers, along with several storage bins for other miscellaneous spares. A close of of the new modular latch design. The latch mounts are now designed as separate inserts, which slide into the case and are secured with M3 screws. The updated design allows the latch mounts to be printed in an orientation that allows for greater strength of the parts which receive the most stress. This design is intended to resolve some rare, but very frustrating cracks that have occurred for several users who attempted to latch the case when the latches were too tight. That issue had a prior workaround using longer latches, but this update should provide more insurance against cracking the case. Close up of the hotend module. The version 3.0 update includes several new hotend module options, including a couple which work with both full (with fan) and partial (without fan) hotends. These modules require that the hotends have a sock however. All the modules also now include holders for the hotend screw storage. A picture showing the case opened up, and displaying the large and small hotend modules (which can hold 4 and 5 hotends respectively) in the base of the case. There is one large compartment in the base of the case, and four more in the lid of the case. There is an option for a base component which holds two large glue bottles in place of one of the large compartments. There are also options for adding a TPU "gasket" to the case, however that will not make it water tight.

Hello Bluesky! (my first post) I'm planning to post updates here on my 3D printing projects soon. For now, here is a kit I'm working on for @lucky13toys.bsky.social 's awesome Dummy 13 figure.

A humanoid robot figure (which goes by Dummy 13) is scaling a perilous 3D printed icy outcrop attached to a wall, with only it's 3D printed ice axe and nerves of plastic. The figure is equipped with a helmet, the aforementioned ice axe, a tiny radio, a backpack, and a watch. It's ice axe is set in the ice outcrop about a forearms length from the top, and his remaining hand is outstretched an an attempt to make one final effort to reach a small platform above, while it's feet try to gain some purchase on the sheer wall. Having successfully made it to the top of the icy outcrop, the humanoid 3D printed figure named Dummy 13, has gotten dangerously close to the edge of an icy outcrop while taking a video for it's Instagram followers. Unfortunately, dropping it's GoPro camera into the carpeted abyss below, while attempting a dramatic panning movement with the camera. The picture captures Dummy 13 right after the moment of dropping the GoPro, while almost losing it's balance. With one leg hanging perilously over an almost 6 foot drop, it has both arms outstretched in an attempt to maintain balance on the narrow 3D printed ice outcrop. It's right hand holds a trekking pole which it holds almost horizontally, while it's left hand is empty and raised above it's head. On it's back it is carrying a backpack, a pair of skis, the other trekking pole, an ice axe and radio... but no GoPro. Fortunately, the busted up GoPro will be recovered a week later by a 3D printed Baby Yoda, who will upload it's dramatic contents to his own Instagram. Having dropped it's GoPro, and being unburdened from having to produce content for it's Instagram followers, the 3D printed humanoid figure known as Dummy 13 takes a moment to take in the beauty of the vast office below, from it's newly won vantage point on a 3D printed icy outcrop located at an altitude of 6 feet. It stands confidently, with it's right hand holding a trekking pole, the tip securely anchored in the ice at it's feet, and it's left hand blocking the glare of a distant compact fluorescent lightbulb. As it surveys the landscape, it can just hear the solemn clickety-clack of a keyboard, and further away, the whirling sounds various PC fans, possibly on their migratory journey to lands far away. Below lies a vast plateau, with a small reservoir of freshly stirred coffee to one side, glinting in the sliver of light from the morning sun, which somehow reached this place. And beyond the plateau, a beautiful valley of lush carpeting, speckled with Dorito Cool Ranch chips, and a single orange tic-tac. Straining to see further, it spots a Twinkie wrapper resting at the base of a majestic towering feature, set far away in a distant corner. "This must be what heaven is like" it thinks, before realizing that it has lost the rope it needed to get back down. Fortunately though, it's radio is still working.
