Latest update from @britishlibrary.bsky.social says they are launching a new version of their main catalogue on Monday 8 December and around that time also launch an interim version of their Archives and Manuscripts Catalogue. Hooray!

There's a very good piece here (pdf) going into the detail of what happened and why - well worth reading. In short, they were in the midst of a big transformation/upgrade process and still had lots of vulnerabilities that the attackers exploited cdn.sanity.io/files/v5dwki...

it also runs on nostr, an unfiltered decentralized protocol similar to bluesky's atproto

due to nostr's censorship-resistant nature, you can easily stumble across hateful or illegal content
