After I finish reading my favourite Canadian author David Smith’s recent Advanced Reader’s Copy (ARC) I might trying reading a Patrick O’Brien. Enjoying Smith’s ARC as it reminds of John Le Carré’s work - fast paced with twists that leave me pondering what just happened.

International Maritime Law obliges vessels to rescue any person in distress at sea, including enemy sailors. I guess the JAGs at the department of war in their advice to Command interpreted the words “person”, “distress”, and “sailor” slightly differently. Disgusting.

As an immigrant myself I think quality of life depends less on JD’s opinion and more on serving at least three cookies with each cup of tea.
