“Sige” isn’t just permission.
It’s encouragement.
A soft nudge. A patient yes.
Spanish "Seguir" meant to continue the path.
Filipino "Sige" became a warm push forward, a gentle green light,
a way of saying: keep going, you can do it.

A single word, traveling across cultures,
shifting with the rhythm of the people who use it.
In Spanish, "Parada" is where you wait.
In our fiestas, "Parada" is where we gather.
In daily life, "Parada" is where you pause your wheels and rest a moment.
Same word. Different stops.

"Parada" became the slow, colorful procession we grew up watching during fiestas — drums, dancers, devotions, a whole town moving as one heartbeat.
And in everyday Filipino speech,
“Parada” softened into something practical:
to park. To pull over. To stop for a while and settle in.

when someone leaves to chase a better life…
when someone steps outside the limitations others feel trapped in…the instinct is to pull them down.

From “I am sure” to “Maybe… we’ll see.”
Seguro: sure.
Siguro: maybe.
Same root. Different hearts.
