The continued devaluing of expertise under the guise of “increasing access” or “lowering barriers” is going to lead to some truly, truly terrible Art.

Some so-called “barriers” to subject matter expertise are just the expertise itself. You can’t short-circuit experience.

A game I worked on is a “Major Prize” for the Pile Up at Santa Cruz’ Boardwalk Arcade. I have officially “made it.” There are no more mountains to climb.
