Museum professional. Living Historian. Interested in 15th C English history, Great War Royal Navy and plenty of geeky things. CEO of www.stowmaries.org.uk
Based in East Anglia, UK.
As I recover from a very nasty chest infection, I have taken the opportunity to replace the buttons on my 1902SD with #RoyalNavy ones. This is for my 1916 LS presentation. #WW1 #RND

A fascinating image (for me, anyway!). The Royal Naval Division, well known for its uniform shenanigans, does it again.
It looks like a SB party. I think it must be post-May 1916 (63rd Div patches on) - they don't have Battalion Brass yet. Curved and Straight RND titles, no colour flash.

Over a #Coffee my mind wanders to #WW1 #LivingHistory. Some new shoulder brass has arrived, but I'm struggling to find 16mm brass KC RN buttons for a 1916 Royal Naval Division impression I am delivering in April. ( I need 6 for my SD pockets and epaulettes). Any ideas?

#LivingHistory is a great way to relax. I have also enjoyed #Reenactment. While I have had plenty of time working in the 15th C, I find myself enjoying #WW1. Particularly the #RoyalNavy. 1916, Royal Naval Division,Galley Killick in April. Time to plan menus. The Galley will provide!

As I'm new to the platform, what sort of presence does #WW1 #LivingHistory or its cousin, #Reenactment have on BlueSky? Any #GreatWar #Museums on here?

Great to see my chum Frankie on here at 47:30 onwards, being very excitable and geeky. Top work and all less than an hour from me.

Digging for Britain - Series 13: 2. Our Rarest Find and Biggest Dig
Two incredibly rare finds from an Iron Age hoard, a look inside the UK’s largest and most complex dig in a generation, and the earliest example of an artist’s signature from Roman Britain.
