I was a congressional staffer when the Jan. 6th Insurrection occurred and I remember being so concerned for the welfare my colleagues who barricaded themselves in their offices.
As we've learned this past year, Democracy is a fragile thing and we must all do our part, big or small, to protect it.

Trump stiffed his contractors, then fell out w/his architect because he refused to back his demand for a ballroom bigger than the WH.

So Speaker Johnson gave the congress another week off. Paid of course, while they shut the govt down.
The GOP has made it clear they have no interest in compromise with Dems. So they will have to figure how to reopen their govt that they closed.

The Global Sumud Flotilla traveled for months to deliver food, water, and medicine into Gaza, only for the humanitarians on board to be detained and treated like criminals.
