I feel like I’m baiting myself into trying to defend some position (“2nd Amendment rights forever!!!” 🙄) that is horrifyingly dangerous in even the best of hands. It this case, it’s the fascists AND the guns. But is it, devastatingly, ALWAYS the guns.

Why? Because guns are fucking terrifying and devastating and don’t allow for takebacks. One mistake by anyone, and we’ve got carnage again, and it is gut-wrenching.

But it’s the guns, man. The police in my hometown killed a man called Philando Castile in 2016. Different law enforcement, “better” training, same conceal and carry rights… 4/

But I feel like I’m caught. With the laws as they are, Alex Pretti should have been able to carry that weapon (to a protest, to observe, to other places that didn’t explicitly prohibit it, yada, yada, yada). And if he did anything wrong (HE DIDN’T)… 3/

Reflexively, I want to point out every ounce of bullshit that Republicans spew about all of this (“oh, look, Trump doesn’t support your second amendment right! BURN.”). They ARE hypocrites. They ARE pea-brained. They WILL make up ANY excuse to justify their continued fealty to the Dear Leader. 2/
