I can't guarantee you would like either, but I still thought both were interesting for different reasons.

And as for Spaceman, it was more of a character study about loneliness, relationships, and there's also a philosophical spider in there. Truth be told, it's kind of hard to go into further detail without spoiling the rest.

However while Click was more about exploiting that special gift for comedic effect, Cobbler turns more into a superhero origin story.

I will say in regards to Cobbler, it does start off with some similar parallels to Click lol. Both movies star workaholic individuals who are tired of the never ending grind only to be given a special gift to break that mundanity.

I'm in a minority position with Click where I concede that the final 3rd is the strongest part, but I also believe that final 3rd wouldn't have been as effective had the movie maintained the more serious tone the entire time.

How I react when I hear people call Click, The Cobbler, or Spaceman bad movies.

Ok I'm sorry but I can not stand having this Doug profile for the next week so I am hereby immediately forfeiting the challenge and bringing back my og profile pic lol.

Frankenweenie was also pretty good.

I guess while I'm on the topic of Burton takes, I definitely believe he has amounted to more than no good movies since 2001, which is a take I've seen some unironically go for. I thought Big Fish, Corpse Bride, and Big Eyes were all great, and I haven't even seen stuff like Sweeny Todd yet.

In fact, there are various directors who have dedicated Wikipedia charts showcasing their most frequent collaborators. If anything I think it shows a level of trust between the 2 that they were willingly to work together for so many projects.

But from how I've seen people phrase this element, it seems they take issue with Depp and Burton collaborating a lot in general. I don't understood this because directors have frequent collaborators all the time.

I want to engage with more nuanced works, but my problem is that I'm just too preoccupied with watching more important pieces of art.

Many prominent online voices spend a lot of time telling artist how they don't understand their own creations despite having the media diet of Kid Cuisine. Then again, perhaps it's hypocritical of me to make such a statement considering my media diet isn't much better.

Quite frankly, this isn't even an issue. It's just people being confused by a creative choice and refusing to look further into why said choice was made.

Me reading that second image.

I had a similar experience with Frances Ha. Not a bad movie per say, but I didn't get much out of it. But that was less a failing on the movies part and more so I just wasn't in the right headspace when viewing. I get the impression that I would enjoy it a lot more if I were to rewatch it.

I have a rather stacked couple of weeks upcoming so the idea is that these silly illustrations are gonna help me maintain sanity for the time being lol.

It even features some pretty notable people like Billy Zane, Peter Berg, and even Burt Young which caught be by surprise the most. Anyway I'm hoping to eventually cover Sandler's wardrobe from his other movies going forward.

The movie isn't great, it's one of those cases where it sounds a lot more entertaining if you were to describe it than to actually watch it. That said, it does have a certain what the f**k kind of energy which at least made me intrigued to finish it through to the end.
