I got to play test this and I think I can best describe it as: a story told in fragments and links, like a Wikipedia rabbit hole made into a narrative mystery adventure game. I really enjoyed it.
Today is the day to tell a strange story.

The long version we'll tell later, but the short version is this. In an attic, in his late great-uncle's house, @jon.inkle.co found a locked trunk. It took twenty years to open. Last summer he did.

Inside was a wiring diagram, and a stack of books.

This is honestly a really good revenue-generating use of their user data that is true to the mission of the site and without exploiting its users.

It is genuinely incredible to me how much evidence there is to support investing in the public good and how much animus there is to do this simple, effective thing.

Absolutely howling at this track a dad left his daughter on a random and bizarre mix tape he made for her before he died.

Come for the vocals; stay for the final line 🤣 what a wonderful gift to leave her and what a wholesome reaction!

BREAKING: We won!

Today the 3rd Circuit Court ordered the @post-gazette.com to restore our contract it illegally tore up 5 years ago. That’s our health care, PTO, right to a 40-hr. work week, short-term disability and so much more we’ve struck for 3+ years.

Society could have started respecting librarians by paying them livable wages. But no, it’s viewed as “women’s work”, so this is where we’re at.
Bad AI supplanting human expertise is an issue that transcends any one field, but man—not many people on earth whose knowledge and dedication deserves respect like LIBRARIANS.
The long-running ideological war on libraries, education, and government workers is not separate from AI boosterism. It is the same ideological war on human knowledge and expertise. In some cases AI is being used to directly supercharge this effort:

I’d even go for a centrist position that gym memberships/sports leagues/pool passes (because everyone exercises differently) should be a refundable credit you get back with your taxes. More people get up, active, and social. Lowers healthcare costs, stimulates the economy.
honestly my most leftist gym bro take is that gyms are a public good and should be state owned and free, not private

My favorite part of this @tressiemcphd.bsky.social oped is that she manages to say “stop settling for mediocre white men” in a way that will still get published by the NYT.
A spitfire of truth by @tressiemcphd.bsky.social that all should read.
