HOME ALONE won this long weekend, while two new releases, THREE MEN AND A LITTLE LADY and PREDATOR 2, tanked. DANCES WITH WOLVES was gaining momentum, while GHOST, released all the way back in July, was still in the top ten.

I've heard this story so many times, and it will never, ever get old. J.R. Smith is a first-ballot Hall of Famer for this alone.

Smith was suspended for a game by the Cavaliers after throwing a bowl of chicken tortilla soup at Jones in the cafeteria at the team's practice facility. Smith later said he'd done so to teach Jones a lesson about running his mouth. "I thought about it. It wasn't a rageful throw," Smith said on "The Old Man and the Three" podcast in 2023. "It was like, 'OK, you're playing with me. I know you're playing with me. I'm gonna show you.' I literally thought about it, and I threw it on him. He's over there screaming because the s--- is hot. I'm like, 'See, you wanna stop playing with me now? You gonna stop playing?'"

What the fuck, Shout Factory? (This is from Diabolik DVD, which did nothing wrong here.)
As you may have heard, Shout Factory seriously undercut stores with their release of HARDBOILED. With no indication that it was going to be severely limited or allocated, we received only 1/4 of our entire order....which we found out only this week. We have spent a lot of time discussing this matter with our distributor and while we have no clear resolution, we haven't given up hope that that we will still get more though it is not definite and there is no clear time line. Seeing as they would have to make more, it could be weeks before we know more. In regards to orders, we did the fairest thing and counted back the number of copies from the first order until we were out. If you are receiving this email from us, your order is still pending. All that said, we are offering refunds for Hardboiled so you can try your luck elsewhere. We know this is industry wide but Amazon, Wal-Mart and Shout direct are still taking orders though we have no idea if you will actually get one from these other stores. We are also happy to hold your order until you have secured a copy elsewhere, so you don't need to immediately cancel and keep your place in line with us should we get more. Also, we assume there will be an ARROW UK version at some point so if you want to roll your order into store credit for the future, that is certainly good for us as well. As of right now we also have no idea if A Better Tomorrow (though we will know more about this soon) and/or The Killer will also be affected so we can't comment on those titles but as of now we are only offering normal store credit for cancellation of those titles. In the nearly 25 years we have been doing this, we have been shorted here and there but never to this degree and never with no advanced notice. This could have been easily prevented with some basic communication so we are enormously frustrated by this and will be very cautious with future preorders from Shout and hope you understand this whole situation was completely out of our control.

I encourage you to block and ignore forever these two culturally illiterate imbeciles. These movies have overwhelming artistic value. They may not connect with you, but they are vital works. Classics. Neither writer has earned the right to pass such harsh judgment on the aforementioned films.
