Thank you to the City of Vancouver for listening to our suggestion of seeking out the opinions of transit riders!

Transit riders are the most affected by bus priority improvements like bus lanes, and we should be actively consulted.

As for the proposed bus lane changes on Kingsway...

You might have recently noticed some signs proudly declaring “The 19 is getting faster!” Sadly, “faster” is a pitiful 3%. The city’s own goal for speeding up buses is 10%. They’re making this proposal mild in advance. We’re here to say “dream bigger, we want this!” Visit our website to take action.

Cars expensive! Transit cheap!

A new study finds that high transportation costs are driven largely by owning vehicles and people who live by rapid transit have a lower cost of living.

We're absolutely shocked!

TransLink is asking you which route the BRT should take OPTION 1: Hastings St and Willingdon Ave OPTION 2: Boundary Rd and Lougheed Hwy An arrow points to option 1 and says We think Option 1: Hastings / Willingdon is the better choice Why we support OPTION 1 Option 1 serves more people with fast, frequent, and reliable transit 60,000 daily riders will bring new potential customers direct to Burnaby Heights businesses It addresses the worst bus delay in Burnaby! Also, R5 buses to SFU can use the BRT lanes Eileen Daily Pool, Confederation Park, and McGill Library would be totally skipped by Option 2 Why transit riders support OPTION 1 Speech bubbles surround the following quotes: I just moved from Burnaby Heights, and a lack of good transit going north/south was always my main complaint. – Harris I love Burnaby Heights, but I don’t have a car so getting there from Metrotown means taking the 130 which takes nearly an hour for me. - Samantha Frequent and reliable transit is NECESSARY for someone who lives near Hastings street and needs to get to work on time. We agree with Natalie! The BRT will bring 60,000 potential customers, let’s make sure they go along Hastings through Burnaby Heights instead of car dealerships.

After all, transit users need food, not cars! 😋

But while I was staring out the window on the bus, I discovered several favourite local businesses along Hastings, and would occasionally stop for a sandwich, snacks or dinner on my way to and from campus.
