Not for generating code from scratch, but in many ways it's like an extension of standard IDE tools like code refactoring helpers and intellisense and the like.

I wish other fields had more helpful LLMs like that, instead of just generative crap.

Eh, LLMs are very useful during any kind of programming and development, so no different here.

There's no super mystery, just look at how github copilot is usually used for examples.

As long as you don't try to use it as some magical generation black box, agentic LLMs are handy.
