This is a frustrating misconception of what doing science is like. All that's needed to break through is someone else to tell you to just "run THIS experiment". Oh that's so easy, thanks, why didn't I think of that?

When you are using the "AI" framing, does the way you talk about "AI" carry water for the Sam Altmans of the world? That is, are you helping to paint a picture of their tech as inevitable, all powerful, and/or anything other than commercial products?

What I find interesting is the comparison of medication to address women’s pain. In France, very low quality evidence of efficacy is permitted, if it is safe. In the US, the evidence needed for efficacy is extremely high, which means many patients remain in pain (incl those in RCT control cond).
