Another wet week ahead but I have stitching to do and treats planned so I am happy.
Layers of a bracket fungus on a piece of dead wood. They are shades of brown with a pale cream edge to each one.

I scanned the sketch, tinted it to sepia tones in photoshop, printed it out on watercolor paper at a slightly larger size (12x16), and got the initial washes of color down. I did color tests in photoshop so I knew how to approach the tones. This is about an hour's worth of painting so far, I think?

Birds emerge from the opening in the man's chest. The man reaches one hand to back to caress the satyr's face, the other presses the satyr's hand to his chest. There's some circular celtic knotwork designs on the borders. The overall colors are warm golds and browns.
