I just went through my Mom's safety deposit box. It had her, my, and my siblings' polio vaccine records. She kept them in a safe place for 60+ years.

My dad was a Federal Magistrate in Yosemite who once took a 2 am call from Justice Kennedy (then on the 9th circuit) telling him to go down to the jail and release an Italian diplomat who'd been arrested for groping a hotel maid. He told the Justice he would, in the morning. He'd have loved this.

Huh. Used to be we avoided South Africa to encourage them to end apartheid. Apparently now we avoid South Africa to encourage them to reinstate it.

This is an elected Congressman stating that the Bishop of Washington should be deported for asking elected officials to show mercy (certainly a well known tenant of Christianity).
