Since 2000, the richest 1% of the world's population has taken 41% of new wealth, the poorest half has received only 1%.

Rich buy political parties, media, means of production, cause corruption, climate crisis, make mockery of democracy. Poor die early.

Must redistribute or risk social disorder.
We cannot continue letting billionaires keep the world's money while the poorest suffer

This is why we must protect the NHS
Well, Fam, just found out our health insurance is jumping from $1700 to over $3000 a month. And we still have to wait till Nov 1 to see more options—when the site will probably crash because everyone will be freaking out at the same time.

Why is the right so angry? They control the entire government and they’re still miserable f*cks.

Joy Reid nailed it.

This morning, once again, there’ll be a bunch of people and organisations wrestling with the issue of deleting their X accounts. “But what about our follower counts?” Doesn’t matter. “But the reach they represent?” It really doesn’t matter. You think it matters, it really doesn’t. 1/

Your Prime Day reminder that half of Amazon warehouse workers struggle with food & housing costs.

A third have had to rely on government assistance like SNAP — which is about to get cut.

If Bezos can spend $50M on a wedding, Amazon can afford to treat its workers with dignity.

CEO pay is up 1,085% since 1978, while typical worker pay is up just 24%.

Why do we always hear "we can't afford to pay our workers more" but never "we can't afford to pay our CEO more"?

I imagine they are like veal, slack muscle fibre, over fed, full of antibiotics and vitamins. I’d still try a slice as it might be nice. Not sure which wine to pair it with though. Any suggestions?

In amongst all the excitement I fear many have missed this outstanding bit of trolling by Friedrich Merz.

The Chancellor gifted Trump a gilded framed copy of his grandfather’s German birth certificate... reminding Americans that Trump is both the child and grandchild of migrants.

I have a cold and thought I’d spend good £ on renting a trashy movie. I went with Kraven. The 3 act origin story with no real depth or empathy, then the minor bad guys, and finally the cgi big boss villain fight, is so rubbish. Why did I do that? I’m out of excuses
