Nothing is more in Australia’s national interest than preserving our natural environment. That’s why these laws have be strengthened before they're passed.

Granting the minister the power to destroy nature for any reason they deem to be in the national interest is an alarming level of authority one that could fast-track fossil fuel projects, carbon capture and storage, or uranium mining, regardless of environmental harm.

As it stands, this Bill is unacceptable.
They hold unique significance to all Australians, and they have to be considered carefully - but the government expects us to pass this law this week after giving parliament one week's notice.

Increased investment in medical research won’t just secure our research sector and guarantee its growth and longevity it will improve health outcomes for all Australians.
We could more than double the amount spent from the MRFF every year, while keeping more money in the fund than it was intended to hold—a win-win for medical researchers and our economy.

This amendment is a small step aiming to ease pressure on households and backing the 300+ small brewers doing it tough against Kirin and Asahi, who control much of the industry in Australia.
To paraphrase a famous old ad, ‘A hard-earned thirst needs a beer you can afford’.
