i think i like tech mods > redstone cuz theyre admittedly more compact and intuitive for peeps like me to just see the name of a block and be like "oh it does this" instead of having to make every functional component, NOT to hate on redstone cuz that stuff is way cool lul

oh ya its really cool! i have a world on there and on infdev+ and a few other expansions/modpacks/continuations like that :P

a lot of builds tend to be big when theyre detailed but ive seen newer players come and play on beta servers and make a lot really cool stuff, using a hybrid of modern and old building ideas.

its really neat to see and puts into perspective how much more than cobble boxes i could try

tbh the pre-release lasted a tiny amount of time in the grand scheme. like 2 years? so i didnt have a lot of time to sharpen my building skills at 10-12 years old with so little. but by now ive been playing beta for like 14 years and i have no excuse to be so particularly mid at building in beta frr

and when i say i think they are being assholes and rage baiting, its cuz the majority of arguments from the peeps who are anti-old mc seem to just be from annoyed player who think old players are becoming pretentious about the old game being somehow objectively better, which i get ig ngl lol but yaa

in a way, i have a perspective on it that makes it feel like theres theres big sections of the community that kinda define themselves based on the version of the game that they stopped updating because of :P

i do find it fascinating to know that even if im part of a hyper-niche group of losers, its fun to know that im not alone and that a LOT of players in the mc community refused to update their games for like 10 years after the adventure update came out.

i always like talking about where i grew up, its the only place i really ever found that interesting :T

i obviously aint going into any places like that as an adult what do i look like XD

ive always liked urbex around old mine and factory sites and stuff but theyre the most risky of them if u ask me and i dont recommend it

i grew up around a lotta urban decay and factories and stuff- one ye old dead coal mine river towns that fed the big steel city

thats fair and tbh hearing the creeper make its usual death noise sorta jogged my memory that mobs did always have them but some probably just didnt have unique sounds in use

the skeleton *did* always have an unused sound for death, that is still not used cuz they chose a diff one, fun fact ig :P

im also shocked by the items showing up in my hands in third person

tbh i always played in peaceful as a kid so maybe i just didnt form much memory around mobs. any servers i played on were too laggy to even spawn them, so lol
