They/Them

Casually a hardcore Nintendo fan.
Metroid games are usually designed so you don't have to play any previous games, but they usually accommodate players by giving some form of recap.

Expensive as always, Samsung.

Sometimes I feel like you're deliberately trying to smear Metroid Prime 4 on Switch 1, focusing on a lot of negativity.

It feels like these few days, a lot of 3rd parties are releasing stuff on Switch 2.

Rockstar released Red Dead Redemption on Switch 2, Ubisoft released Assassin's Creed Shadows.

Metroid Prime 4 continues Sylux's story, who was first introduced in Hunters, before reappearing in Prime 3 and Federation Force.

Seems like Prime 4 Beyond has the exact same score as Metacritic.

I should also remind you that Metroid Dread, a Switch 1 original game, also has slow loading times.
December 3, 2025 at 4:51 PM
The game appears to run at the same performance as Metroid Prime Remastered, unsurprisingly.

However, this version is plagued by the same issues that Metroid Dread faced, at least on the physical version:

Slow loading times.

I hope Retro Studios addresses this issue in the near future.

This video does not clarify which mediums the games are being tested on, and what hardware the Switch 1 is being tested on.

Nintendo of America produced a recap video for Breath of the Wild, prior to the release of Tears of the Kingdom. This was one of the things that pushed people to starting TotK without having to play BotW.

Even if MP4 has a recap cutscene, people wouldn't know about it until they bought the game.

I wonder how the difficulty was adjusted. Are they too difficult or too easy?

John's only concern is the fake HDR in handheld mode. Other than that, he states that this game still looks amazing.
December 2, 2025 at 5:20 PM
Samus talking has been a treat in Dread. I think having her behave in the same way in Prime 4 would be the best way forward.

Try configuring with the HDR settings. It might fix the washed out colours.

I have to assume it's his style. It certainly fits with his philosophy behind keeping game development affordable, but stylistic. Plus, I have to assume he's working with the same Bandai Namco team who worked on Smash, so it would naturally be easier just to reuse everything.
December 2, 2025 at 3:17 PM
I guess that is one consequence of reusing so many of the same artistic and graphical effects as Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, which is also somewhat washed out in colour.

If they want to truly succeed, they should consider throwing in flashback sequences that give us a taste of the Greek era.

This is likely the reason why I hold both Age of Calamity and Age of Imprisonment in such high regard. They both speak to these uncanny coincidences that make me wish I had published the fan-fics that my friends and I have worked on.

However, the reason it ended was due to long-term writer's block.
December 1, 2025 at 11:42 PM
In one of those fan-fic drafts, I also introduced another character. Scar in the face mask, large stature and body build of a Yiga Blademaster, commanding figure of the Yiga Clan.

Two years after his conception, guess who appeared in Age of Calamity?
December 1, 2025 at 11:42 PM
Age of Imprisonment introduced the character Quino, who is a royal guard of King Rauru, a wielder of two-handed weapons, and is roughly the same age as Link and Zelda in their BotW years.

It is the biggest coincidence ever. The crazy thing is, Quino isn't even the first coincidence.
December 1, 2025 at 11:42 PM
However, despite numerous restarts, there was one particular set of characteristics my OC had:
- Royal Guard
- Wielded two-handed weapons
- Roughly same age group at Link and Zelda (some iterations)

I didn't think that roughly 7 years later, by some coincidence, he would come to life in some way.
December 1, 2025 at 11:42 PM
It got quite dramatic to the point of spawning a desire to write a fan-fic. Naturally, it became very difficult to do so due to trying to avoid random elements.

Plus, my OC had an uninspiring name. It was just my real name. I didn't care at the time, but oh boy, it is embarassing to look back now.
