I had a package of ground venison thawed out and kept waffling back and forth between tacos and cheeseburgers. Cheeseburgers won even though it's currently 18°F outside. Clear skies and calm wind so not too bad manning the grill. 😁 #HuntToEat

Deercation day 3. Afternoon report.
So very thankful and blessed. I could get up to 3 deer but my husband and I only need one to get us through the year. So I am done deer hunting for the season. #hunting #HuntToEat

This ended up being plan C. An old turkey blind on the edge of the field. They've been known to come out of bedding to the west. If they come out in front of the blind I'll be okay. If they come out behind the blind to work into the field they'll catch my scent. Best I can do.

Deercation day 3. Set up and ready at 7:10am. I'm not 100% sure I'm going to stay here or shift over 50-100 yards or so. But this tree is definitely super comfortable. I'll throw some milkweed and see what the wind is doing once it's light enough to see.

Deercation day 2. 3:30pm along the edge of the field where all those deer came out at 5pm yesterday. So you know they are going to come out at the far side where I was sitting last night. 😂 In any case, I couldn't have sat here last night due to wind direction. Ok tonight.

My afternoon view. I've got a shot into the woods to my right and a shot into the field to my left. 30°F light south wind from my left to my right and heading slightly behind me. There is an open cow pasture behind me. And bedding is all out in front of me. #deer #hunting

I made it out 15 minutes before shooting time. Saw a few headlamps in the surrounding woodlots. Wind is dead calm. 29°F Photo is with night view enhancement. It's not that light out yet.

Hubby and I made it to and from Thanksgiving festivities. Morning drive was snow free. The evening drive home involved about 20 miles of white knuckle unable to see the road travel but after that was smooth sailing.

Deer season snacks are being bought in preparation for next week's deercation. I almost went with the Christmas tree brownies but there are only 5 in a package instead of 6 cosmic brownies. 😁

I'm beat. We have an old gooseneck trailer we haven't used in years. Neglect allowed several multiflora bushes to overtake it. 1 hour with the chainsaw yesterday & 2 hours today plus 1 hour hauling away brush. I like to sit on the bed sometimes during deer season and now I can.
