@startribune.com print deadline is now 5:30pm except for Saturday (Sunday edition) which is 4:15pm because it’s now printed in Iowa. When I was producing TV news sometimes I’d have an almost entirely new first block of stories happen between 6pm and 10pm.
Here is how the fine print “To Our Readers” note on page two of the newspaper changed from last Sunday to Monday as The Minnesota* Star Tribune silenced its Minneapolis presses and sent printing to Des Moines, Iowa.

“Even in defeat, Democrats remain bullish that the contest portended some of Mr. Trump’s political weaknesses entering 2026. Roughly 100 Republican-held seats were less pro-Trump in 2024 than Tennessee’s Seventh, and Democrats need to flip only three seats to win a House majority next year.”
Matt Van Epps, a Republican former state official and Army veteran, won a special election for the House on Tuesday in Tennessee, holding off a surprisingly stiff Democratic challenge in a Republican district that drew a flood of national attention and money.
