I think it enriches the original movie too. Like, that sequence where she breaks down upon seeing what's left of the Green Place hits a LOT more when you've seen what she lost in 'Furiosa.'

Predator, by those standards, is actually quite restrained. But still, I'd argue it plays better most of the time when the movie lets viewers actually discover things, when it creates a sense of mystery and gradually fills in the blanks.

This is pretty cool! I've wanted to conduct similar recuts to a LOT of opening sequences for fantasy and sci-fi movies. The fact is, 9/10 such films have what I call a 'demystifying prologue' eg. flashback or standalone teaser with V/O that gives viewers way too much information ahead of time.

I'd say it makes emotional sense rather than logical. Like, this is Alan processing his journey in the first game. Hence, you face AW1-style enemies.

It seems like a very organic progression to have the Grabber become a fully supernatural being. I just hope he isn't so immortal that we'll get him coming back until Black Phone X comes out in 26 years.

Thanks! I suppose they must've been renting or subletting the place for maybe 5-7 years or so. Also, pretty sure the 15-year time jump takes 2009 as its starting point, given the Covid situation.

Likewise. It's such a clever way to rework the opening. I'm confused though - did the Hills move out of their house and then move back in a few years later, after Bobby graduated? Did Nancy finally leave Dale and move in with John Redcorn? So many questions.

Yeah, I know. The more accurate points of comparison would be other prestige serial dramas of the 2000s and the 2020s. Sooner or later somebody will call Andor "The Wire with Star Wars."

It's very much SW by way of mid-2000s prestige serial drama. From a screenwriting standpoint, one could argue it surpasses the source material.

I also really love the tone of #Thunderbolts and believe that's what make it feel most like a bigger budget Sony movie. This is surprisingly serious and sincere stuff from the MCU, without a lot of the ironic detachment stuff a la Whedon or James Gunn.

LOL! Just read who the photographer is on the site! Never mind. But still, really gives off a 70s vibe.

Who did your photo, man? Cause it looks like something out of a 70s movie!
