Belatedly, this year's "bias whiteboard". Each year we ask our first year grad students to list biases that shape ecological research, and then they brainstorm ways to combat them. This always leaves me feeling optimistic and grateful for the next science generation. #figaday 4.143/n #year4

Can't resist an opportunity to brag about our lab. 5 years ago, they started an EDI book club, which is now department-wide. Last year, I turned over prompt writing to them, and they write just the most thoughtful and thought-provoking questions. Also I endorse the book. #figaday 4.133/n #year4
