Sunday distraction. Put together this miniblocks orchid kit.

Cats helped and were very nice and only inspected the pieces instead of stealing any. Not going to dust it as it likes to disassemble itself at the slightest touch.

But then she does this while on my lap as I draw lines.

I’m in the middle of story plotting, character and worldbuilding for my next novel and I’ve needed to map out a particular location so I know where everything is and how it intersects. And I’ve been avoiding it.

Now that I’ve finally started, gridding up pages in my sketchbook this happens.

Taking the cat for a walk and he’s found his favourite rock. So far we’ve spent 5 minutes loving rubbing out head on it.

Any #knitters out there every discover that part way into a project they don’t haven enough yarn to complete it but don’t want to frog the WIP because it’s too pretty?

Took the cat out for his evening walkie today and he decided to make the point that my legs may be longer than his but he can run faster than I can.

When they bloom, they’ll look like these from last summer:

I’m going to have about 28 moonflowers blooming later in the week. These buds have just begun to turn. They do this in the days leading up to them opening.

Last winter Mum planted a #Yuzu citrus tree and as #summer has heated up it really doesn’t like the hot days. I suggested to her that perhaps it needed a hat.

A few days later I discovered that she’s done this (below). Weeks on it turns out the Yuzu likes it’s hat.

She has opinions a
D today it was that I should stop what I was drawing and let her out, now.

She gets shut in when it’s hot out because this cat was found on a mine site and hot weather is no reason to stop playing outside.

I’m exceptionally pleased with how this 300g skein of #wollmeiselacegarn is knitting up.
A giant skein of multicoloured yarn in green, pink and purple against a background of purple and white daisies. The same skein wound into a cake. The green and purple colours have pooled into splotches on the fabric as it gets knitted with pink sections transitioning between the two.
