Why CinemaSchminema? Because I really would rather be watching this.

“The Ghost Station” definitely isn’t the greatest ghost story I’ve ever watched, but the underlying reason for the ghost kids being there was enough to keep me watching until the end.

If you’re looking for a fun sci-fi flick that will make you think (and also possibly leave you a little depressed), “Site” is the film for you. Featuring an intriguing plot, a good cast, and mostly excellent cinematography, it’s an ambitious project that almost manages to achieve its goals.

I really wanted to like this one because premise was cool, but “Never Blink” has far too many minor issues that add up, making the film less enjoyable than it could’ve been. Definitely an A for effort, but, like, a C- overall.
"Never Blink" Shoots For Intriguing, Falls Short

Objectively, “Within the Pines” is beautifully shot, with gorgeous scenery and incredibly tight sound design, which, considering the probably minimal budget, is a fantastic feat. Lyrically and plot-wise, though, the film fails to live up to its potential, making it more middling than anything else.
"Within the Pines" Offers Potential But Little Else
Or, sweet sound design, but not much else.

The nightmarish tradition of Black Friday may be over, but it isn’t too late to enjoy an “everyman versus zombie aliens” film about that tradition.

"The McPherson Tape" isn’t terrible for a 1989 found-footage film, but all the yelling and improvisation, while realistic, make it a drudge to get through, because you just want everyone to shut the hell up already and do something smart.
"The McPherson Tape" Is Old School
Or, wow, that was a lot of yelling.

Unfortunately, a good idea alone won’t hold up an entire movie; you need at least a decent script and middling actors to do that, and “Hell Hole” just did not have those things.

“Deranged” is a good watch (if you don’t mind being freaked out by the idea of parasites). The pace rarely drags, and the scenes of large groups of people dying will leave you tense, and by the end, you might just have a new fear unlocked as well.
