This is the same mindset of the people who think Trump is a singular anomaly and get really mad when anyone suggests he is a product of systems and structures put in place for centuries specifically to create and empower people like him.

A much fairer critique is that America’s QOL is much lower than it should be for a country as rich as itself.
High quality resource efficient housing should be abundant, we should have a shit ton of HSR, our grid shouldn’t be crumbling, and medical debt shouldn’t exist here, etc.
