I still think every candidate from now on should have to pass the updated US citizenship exam (it's not a cakewalk) *and* show how a family of four with two minimum-wage incomes can afford all the basics (home, food, clothing, transport) PLUS healthcare (& they have to show the math). 🤷‍♀️

Remember: The richest 1% evade over $160 billion in taxes every year.

That amount would fund SNAP for a year with money to spare.

Ask yourself who the real freeloaders are.

This is excellent. In three minutes she explains how democracies become dictatorships. It's happened so many times, yet in each country, most people said, 'it can't happen here'
#StaceyAbrams explains how to achieve an #autocracy in 10 steps.

We're at step 9.

The military is in our streets. Is our democracy worth the effort to defend it?

No joke.
Not really an overstatement to say that the test of a free society is whether or not comedians can make fun of the country's leader on TV without repurcussions.

I almost skipped this because, well, duh. Don't skip it. It does a great job of addressing our current situation without ever saying a word about our current situation. HCR is, as always, outstanding.

This is a Shivah ribbon, worn while in mourning. I wear it now to mourn the loss of the America I loved. To grieve the loss of a free country.

I call on the Hungarian authorities to allow the Budapest Pride to go ahead.

Without fear of any criminal or administrative sanctions against the organisers or participants.

To the LGBTIQ+ community in Hungary and beyond:

I will always be your ally.

Booker: He was made to kneel before the authority of the executive… They treated a member of the United States senate violently after he identified himself, dragged him out of a room, threw him upon the ground, and put him in handcuffs

No better testimonial than this one on how federal job cuts put lives at risk.
Cuts have consequences, illustrated. As seen on TV 📺

Make your voices heard, people. Hate the bill the House passed? Tell your reps or adjacent reps in your state.
Here are some from my state:
Boebert: 202-225-4761
Crank: 202-225-4422
Hurd: 202-225-4676
Evans: 202-225-5625
They don’t like phone calls. What do we say? Tough!

Join the nationwide effort to use your voices! You can do this with your kids too. Send letters (yes, letters!) to the government entities. Bonus: this action also supports the USPS.

I’ve been wondering for decades why women still change their names when they marry.
Change your names back NOW, friends! So that you can vote in perpetuity.
(I can’t believe I had to type that sentence…)
