Our VHS tapes of Rocky & Bullwinkle have been digitized after a long, long time. These tapes flicker, and there's some rainbowing, but the audio is perfect and I can feel the stress leaving my body.

I have been away for a bit over a week, and I came home to find a twenty-foot audio cable draped over my floor loom. I’m glad it’s pursuing other interests while I’m away. Enrichment is so important!

What do you think this sock is worth? Imagine it is one of a pai. Imagine the cost includes both socks, and that it took me about sixteen hours to knit both. Further imagine that the cost of materials is somewhere in the neighborhood of $30.

A black cat named Galadriel has crammed herself into a narrow shelf above a computer desk. She is lying on a pile of desk stuff, papers and typewriter ribbons and a roll of embroidery cloth, in between a row of books held up by a bookend and a dish of post-its. She is eye-level with the photographer and is both indignant and smugly pleased. “you see, mother?” She is asking. “I can TOO help you write.”
