Parenthood is making the food you always wanted, for your inner child.
Then your actual child makes a face because it isn’t one of the three approved beige carbs this week. *sighs*

Getting to write for the Dark Crystal was an honor and a joy.

Getting to center sign language on the world of Thra as much as I did was a pleasure.
Jim Henson Presents #4 Is out! I really loved to color these Dark Crystal pages by @countandra.bsky.social with the Story by @seananmcguire.bsky.social

Pro tip: wear slippers that look like work shoes so when you forget and wear them to work, you aren’t in trouble and feel decadent for wearing slippers to work. (Mine are black croc ballet slippers 10/10)

These are legitimately amazing socks and I love mine. If you like getting things in the mail, 10/10.
It also would be impossible without the tens of thousands of people who subscribe to the Awesome Socks Club and Sun Basin Soap. 100% of the profits go to fight maternal and child mortality. Learn more at good.store

Who wants Niche tea?
Gallaudet students collaborated with Coke to come up with a fancy new “official” sign for the brand.
And lots of Deaf people are grumpy about it (an individual institution just deciding a whole new word)

Me: fostering patience and calm.

Also me: I regularly threaten my kids that *blank* is only for closers, or give countdowns.
Me: clean up your blocks! Snacks are for closers!

My toddler claims when you cut up an omelette the bites can be called chicken nuggets.

I’ll be over here having a linguistic existential crisis

The adorable insanity of toddler parenting: the baby insists on getting her sleeves pushed up too, like her big sister. She’s wearing a short sleeve shirt. It’s a big performance.

There’s something very Meta about someone talking to you in an unwanted way when all you want to do is extract yourself so you can read Murderbot.

State of the ASL access world: according to RID (our national registry organization), there’s less than 300 legally certified interpreters available in the entire US. This is fine.

(SC:L’s are hard to come by since they stopped offering the test, some states have alternative paths, but yeah)

Send your adult friends valentines. Tell your friends you love them, with words or candy or shenanigans. Ideally all three.

Did now know this, holy shit
periodic reminder that elon’s grandpa was born in minnesota and raised in canada and was so racist that he *moved to south africa* specifically to support apartheid
1960, Elon Musk's grandfather - Joseph Haldeman - denounced the "international conspiracy" to replace South African Apartheid with a communistic world dictatorship

His rhetoric was strikingly similar to Musk's own ravings about the Great Replacement and "woke mind virus" www.vox.com/politics/400...
