once I got a bit excited by thinking I was chatting to someone who'd actually played the 2001 budget game goat Deadly Dozen until they said "I watched some gameplay and I'm sorry but I can tell it's bad" and I lost a part of me that day that I'll never get back
My even more unpopular opinion is unless you have personally experienced the thing, you should probably refrain from having an opinion on it.
We need to return to shaming people for parroting YouTube/TikTok with stuff like "When I want your opinion, I'll just find the YouTuber who gave it to you."

COD sales are down and as a COD sicko I'm kinda glad. I quite liked last year's Black Ops 6 but I got my fix of it's ADHD redbull gimmicky movement tech and I now just want COD to feel normal again. Hopefully these sales force another WW2/MW19 style course correction. I'm predicting they will.

Rockstar can eat my ass but I've been playing a bit of Vice City lately and it's delightful. I'd played bits of it before, but I played way more of 3 and San Andreas, so now I'm giving Vice City a solid go and it might be my favourite of the three. Its distilled in a simple fun way without any bloat

almost finished The Order 1886 and it's definitely won me over but I totally get why someone would hate this game lol. So many QTEs
I think especially after playing Skate it's nice to play a game that is so confident in itself and its aesthetic, and I love the ambition even if it goes unrealised

they should make lockpicking minigames illegal and retroactively replace all of them in already released games with simple progress bars. P.S. i am not a crackpot

I started playing The Order 1886 and I'm really enjoying how self-serious to a fault it is. It's quite a silly game on paper being a steampunk victorian werewolf game, but it's compelling in just how hard it commits to turning that into something stylish and melodramatic

delighted by how many people linked me the Scarface game popping up on steam but it seems like it was a no-name company falsely listing it before they secured the rights, and it's already been taken down. that game is a licensing nightmare and i'd be very surprised if we actually see a re-release

Look, it’s really straightforward to get a publisher as a new name indie in 2025. Simply do 95% of the work making and marketing your game, and if your metrics are trending towards almost certain success, a publisher will swoop in to promise the remaining 5%, deliver 3%, and collect 75%
