Just got off the phone with mom, who is nearing retirement age and an LPN (read: cannot afford a $30k new car). She wants to buy a new RAV4 bc she doesn’t think her Corolla Cross is big enough anymore, & also because it would somehow make her car payment go down (by extending the loan period, great)

Yes! I didn’t consent to this! Where’s their study protocol? Did they get IRB review? Is there an independent panel of experts reviewing their data every 6 months that has power to stop the study if there’re substantial concerns? Low risk observational medical studies have more guardrails than this🙄
Uhhh when did the people get a say in this decision? Every person on the roads and sidewalks just got entered into a potentially deadly experiment without their consent.

I hate my job but I just deadlifted 2x body weight for the first time since I had abdominal surgery almost 5 years ago so I guess it all balances out

Of course my cat picks the holidays to refuse to eat Fancy Feast pate any longer. He seems to do OK with the Fancy Feast Medleys though. He will also eat Purina ONE in gravy, for now. The wet food he decides to eat or refuse seems to depend on the day. Fun adventure for my wallet!

We walked an hour in Puyallup, WA to go to the cat café and then a sphynx named Fluff purred and cuddled on me for 45 minutes. Part of the walk didn’t have sidewalks, and the rest of the walk was along a loud stroad, but it was worth it. Very sweet cat. We’ll take the bus back to the hotel.

My most woke opinion is that cities should completely ignore suburban commuters and design the city we aspire to be. They’ll either begrudgingly commute in by car, mode shift, or be replaced by others in foot traffic

My most woke opinion is that cities should completely ignore suburban commuters and design the city we aspire to be. They’ll either begrudgingly commute in by car, mode shift, or be replaced by others in foot traffic
I have always wanted to learn to play bassoon. What a joyful and fun instrument. I played violin for nearly two decades, through college, through the pandemic but my shoulder hurts too much to play that now. Sadly bassoons are expensive to rent or buy. Maybe one will pop up on FB Buy Nothing lol.
