10 years later, soulless people wander the wasteland that was this country thinking

“hmm i wonder why there are no great nonfiction books these days or plays or art or happiness or tenderness or regret.

oh well fuck it time to log onto torment nexus for my afternoon torment!”

My one critique (there might be more later) is that the writer describes those living in poverty and/or the undocumented as though they are living off of benefits that are not their due.

But truly, the tent I live under means that there is _always_ enough for everyone. No one is undeserving.

"The second earner isn’t working for a vacation or a boat. The second earner is working to pay the stranger watching their children so they can go to work and clear $1-2K extra a month. It’s a closed loop."

* aim for applying to 1-2 LIS jobs/week
* always write thank you notes to your mentors & references
* finally: get curious & keep that curiosity afloat: maybe that's woodworking, collage, bike repair, zine-making, just get nerdy because that's what going to keep you alive during the grueling search

Rambling feedback for current LIS students re: job search:

* no to volunteering; only accept paid gigs
* keep talking to your friends + weak ties - they could help you
* broaden search to include all types of libraries while angling for the LIS work of most interest
