Other journalists (Chotiner evidently excluded) seem to think Ben Smith has all kinds of smart things to say about journalism. As an average reader and listener to assorted podcasts, I’ve probably waded through Ben’s words in the tens of thousands. I’ve never picked up on any such smart things.

Border state American here. This is “vigour” you do not need, unless you’re looking to provide crowd of undereducated white thugs an outlet for their unbridled native cruelty. This is vigour that diminishes a nation by doing harm to innocent people in the name of prejudices dressed in togas.
