Since the Bondi terror attack, I have seen on Facebook a surge of fake news / hate speech, of the type usually found on Elon Musk's X.

I have very little sympathy towards #JimmyLai.

What westerners do not realise is that his flagship newspaper, Apple Daily, openly condoned violent protesters (aka 'valiants') during the 2019 Hong Kong revolution.

People - especially politicians - anywhere in the world, must not make assumptions about the motive behind the Bondi terror attack.
Australia needs unity, not division.

There are many Australians who are unwilling or unable to go through the age verification process due to well-founded privacy concerns.

Australia's social media law is already having a chilling effect on free speech.

Judging from the reactions here on Bluesky, it looks like Australia's age verification law will cause the already small Australian Bluesky community to completely collapse.

On the eve of Australia's age verification law coming into effect, the only major social media platform yet to respond is X.

Once again, X under Elon Musk acts as if it were above the law (and it IS above the law).

"Bluesky, for example, had been assessed as “very low risk” due to only having around 50,000 Australian users and very few young people."

Social media ban: when does it start in Australia, how will it work and what apps are getting banned for under-16s?
Will the ban be delayed or postponed, and how will age verification work? Here’s everything you need to know

We have not phoned our relatives in Hong Kong to ask them if they are okay.

Because they all live in skyscrapers; some of them would have witnessed the horrific spectacle of the fire IRL.

So obviously, they are grieving, angry, and above all, SH!T SCARED.

Woe to those who use the Hong Kong fire as a pretext for partisan political attacks

I have been a bit quiet here lately.

Expect me to be more active here after 10 December, when Australia's social media law comes into effect, possibly causing mayhem on all major social media platforms.

You know which T-shirt I find antisemitic?

Boy London.

It has a nazi eagle, and it is everywhere.

With the White House East Wing / Ballroom now on the news, it is interesting to compare it with this imitation Versailles, built on the order of 'Mad' King Ludwig II of Bavaria in the late 19th Century.

Please, #NoKings people, don't idolize the Hong Kong 'pro-democracy' protests - these were and still are very pro-Trump.

#PrinceAndrew will no longer be the #DukeofYork
And probably won't be a 'Guest of His Majesty' either
Let's send him to St Helena instead *hint hint*

In the UK it is not unusual for recipients of orders of chivalry to return the insignia to the government as signs of protest.

Will recipients of the US Presidential Medal of Freedom do likewise, in protest of the posthumous award ot the said medal to Charlie Kirk?

This reminds me why I (an ex-Hongkonger) rarely attend protests.

On Facebook the responses to this tiny protest were universally negative - not just the usual "you're pro-Hamas" copped by pro-Palestinian protesters in the West, but also "you're pro-CCP" and swear words too offensive to repeat here.
A group of Hong Kong activists marched in Tsim Sha Tsui on Tuesday to condemn Israel’s war on Gaza and to call for a ceasefire, marking two years since the latest conflict in the Palestinian territory began.

The lack of Women in History is bad enough in the UK, but it is even worse in China: there is simply no well-known Chinese female role model, with the exception of Mulan who was a FICTIONAL CHARACTER.

In response to the UN inquiry on the Palestinian Territory etc., Sussan Ley denies there is genocide in Gaza, saying there is a lack of 'intent' to commit genocide.

Yet the inquiry specifically says there is 'intent' to commit genocide.

Is Sussan Ley even paying attention?
