Oooh I had to look up Catalunya and wow, I see why! I hear good things about Malta too. I have been trying to learn Spanish like crazy because I fell hard for Colombia, but my dogs can't fly at all (breed restrictions) so I may go to Mexico for a bit.

I'm not so sure. Anyone who has changed gender has submitted paperwork. I can't imagine there aren't records. They can revoke first, send notice second (which is how it works.) Sure it can be tied up in courts but meanwhile no passport. Or to the shadow docket. Law is unclear so provides cover.

I wrote about the process and the piece was published. But I wrote it awhile ago, and I presumed normal functioning of the courts. So they could shadow docket it, for one thing. Or it gets tied up in courts for months, during which time no passport.
