They have been leeching tax money, legislated guaranteed profits, have a monopoly on our power system, and have refused to invest in the infrastructure for decades to keep our systems up to date and reliable. Make our power public.

It’s important that even though the strike is over, we do NOT let this city council off the hook for the cost of the scab work done to undermine our workers’ right to strike. Philip Brown still has to go.

we got a huge scissor lift and 830’s president stood right outside the window behind Mayor Philip Brown’s chair with a bullhorn letting him know we were outside for over 2 hours during their meeting.

We then had a visit from our comrades at CUPE NB SCFP who joined us for more door drops then topped the night off with a huge rally outside of city hall. Mark Hancock gave us a roaring speech to get everyone fired up. Remember when I said our members were banned from the building? Well no worries,

🧵: The City of Charlottetown, PE banned a few of our striking members from city hall about a week ago. So CUPE came back bigger and stronger. Today we went door to door handing out information regarding CUPE LOCAL 830 ’s strike, including naming which councillors continue to vote against our workers
