#ACenturyOfCinema continues, 1997: Sergio Stivaletti's THE WAX MASK, co-written by Lucio Fulci & Dario Argento, is a grizzly take on the House of Wax movies. Set in Rome, 1912, it has great production values, makeup fx work & an ending which veers into The Terminator!

Tom Berenger is an ex special forces mercenary who goes undercover in a high school after his teacher gf gets kneecapped after standing up to the gang running the school. Really entertaining & going to check out the DTV sequels!

#ACenturyOfCinema continues, 1994. DEATH MACHINE was Stephen Norrington's first time in the director's chair & while there are some decent moments, they are eclipsed by very shouty & annoying performances. Good model work & fx, horrible computer graphics, even for the time!

today has been one of the most stressful I've EVER had at work. I even startled the electrician working upstairs by screaming FUCK!! at the top of my lungs. Calmed down by editing a MAMMOTH, 300th episode of @thedtvdigest.bsky.social & grabbed a new #skircle to remind myself there's chill out there.

Speaking of: our "hero" is an idiot who ignored the "Do Not Get Wet!" warning sticker. Great crane stunt though.

#ACenturyOfCinema continues, 1985:JAGGED EDGE is a fun courtroom thriller. Jeff Bridges, editor of a San Fran newspaper is accused of brutally murdering his wife by DA Peter Coyote, & hires ex prosecutor Glenn Close. The courtroom scenes are v compelling & the film keeps you guessing up to the end.
