Generally agree with a quibble: He may have had some principles. But he stomped on nearly all core American values with the authorization and oversight of torture at Guatanamo. Mayer's book on this is harrowing.

On that topic, the Supreme Court issued a unanimous decision in January, upholding a bill passed with overwhelming bipartisan support in Congress and signed into law by the President. The current President is lawlessly defying that law. True story.
