The defense looking competent is something good. And different from most of the first 15 games.

These last two games have had the feel of “this is a good team, just needs a star player” which is a step up from the few run of games before, which those made me ask if there were even 9 NBA players on the team (harsh but I did have questions)

His weird little bounce passes have been a rare joy this season

I don’t think I’m quite there, but… their qualities are the types where I can only enjoy them once every couple of months

I would love for ⚽️ to be more important in my community than 🏈 , but it’s just not the case in America now or in the near future. We have to be able to talk about it out here with normal people.

If we could guarantee we get a top 2 pick, then I would do it so easily… but there is just no way to know. Maybe there is a draft day trade out there, but we also need to trade him now to help get us to a better chance of a top 2 pick

Yeah, I am not sure if they would be better off this year, but they would (probably) be better off next year, which is the more important year. It’s also not a failsafe move, trying to find a trade partner who needs Mathurin and has a center we would want is not easy

Depending on where the pick ends up, I think they could fit him in, even under the tax, but that would probably involve getting off Toppin/TJ/Jarace

The biggest thing for me over the course of the season is that I just don’t see an alternate route to a center. I could be proven wrong, or maybe a protected future pick gets one good enough. I just feel like the other players that could be trade assets for the Pacers are losing value (eg Jarace)

2) and with that draft coming, almost all the best picks are guards and/or wings. If the basketball gods to award the Pacers with a top 3 pick and end with Dybantsa/Peterson, you are going to need to open up wing minutes to play them regardless

1) the Pacers still desperately need a starting level center. That will not come via draft or free agency, so it has to come via trade. Unfortunately for fans of teams, you do have to trade something good to get something good back. The 2 best assets the pacers could trade are the 26 pick or Benn.

I only enjoyed watching CAF and CONCACAF qualifying. It wasn’t quality soccer, but those teams and fans still very much cared, which was a lot of fun. But I agree where that is very fleeting

I am pretty sure WCQ is going to be more fun than the actual World Cup tournament, but even that will get less fun over the years as we lose the “first time they gave qualified” angle with so many teams
