I wish my liberal friends who read that one lady everyday would remember that pundits exist to tell you what you want to hear

It would be nice if just once I could get new technology that's already fully charged

Other than the title song, co-written by Neil Sedaka, this album is very Beach Boys-adjacent, with songwriting contributions from Brian and Dennis Wilson and Bruce Johnston. Obviously, I love it

The first email I received this year was from the Department of State, notifying me that my passport renewal was approved.

This year I continued my streak* in which over half of the books I read were not written by cis men.

*that began last year. I read 3 books in all of 2023; grief is funny like that

The best song on this album is a cover of Stevie's All in Love is Fair. A brilliant song that Barbra sings the hell out of.

Long-time followers will know of my fondness for Herr Kaempfert and Ladi Geisler's knack-bass sound. Lots of fun originals in this collection from 1963

Taking a break from holiday music to listen to this classic. In all the wanderings of the past couple of years I seem to have misplaced the cover, but I imagine most people of a certain age can picture it just fine

Main street was busy yesterday so I had to park about 5 blocks away from the place where I'd called in an order. As I'm walking back to my car with this giant pizza box every dad I passed said "oh is that for me?" while their kids laughed uproariously. Small towns are fun

Unbeknownst to me beforehand, the last 2 books I've read have involved walks through the Mendip Hills, where I spent most of May this year

Guess what I just finished doing
Nothing makes me feel more like a functional adult than a slow cooker meal. Dinner? I started it at noon, motherfuckers.

I saw half a dozen wild turkeys and 3 black bears on my walk this morning

This inspired me to watch it last night and after spending a few months in rural England this spring it definitely hit different. I especially appreciated that they were raising money for the church roof because that is something that happens in literally every village in the UK
rewatching Hot Fuzz, a folk horror classic and also a perfect film

edward woodward is even in it!

I love these! So convenient.

And also I've been in and out of that airport enough times in the last 2 years that I know exactly where that picture was taken
I have been traveling and today I present to you...the thing I saw in the Frankfurt airport.

Is it efficient? Undeniably. Does it probably work better than the normal way? Oh certainly. Produce less of a mess? Probably?

But the existence of Condiment Udders gives me a deep, aghast disquiet.
