Just finished at the gym, with our garbage weather and gym holiday closures it’s been almost two weeks. It kicked my ass, but I feel better having done it. 💪

Day one of “stay home due to the arctic cold”, so far we’ve had a bottle of wine, all the Reese’s peanut butter cups, and a bag of cheesy poofs… should have bought more stuff. 😳

Haven’t posted much, it’s winter and it’s pretty yuck here in the cornfields. But we are considering throwing some stuff in the car and heading out west, maybe all the way to California, who knows. I haven’t seen the pacific in 25 years, might be time to rectify that.

Whew! Couldn’t sleep last night, finally went to bed at 4am, fell asleep around 5am, got up at 8am. It’s a quiet stay home day here, just reading and relaxing, and I’m guessing bed by 9pm.

Life can be tremendously simple and easy when you retire, that’s the path I’ve chosen. I try to keep commitments minimal and I carefully curate who I spend time with. Life is happier than I ever imagined... not to say there aren’t challenges, but overall life is excellent.

When someone says something negative about you breathe and smile, if you really want to respond I’ve found saying “noted” tends to confuse people who were expecting defensiveness or a counter argument. Yes I heard the words coming out of your mouth, now I am done with this conversation.
