I was thinking about it more and maybe player fantasy makes a lot of sense to me in the marketing aspect of games (before you play them). Like, "I get to be X!") or even just fantasizing about what the game will be like.

This music is really good : ) I would watch these people race.

I think "player fantasy" is a sort of similar concept to "immersion". And I don't think people are "immersed" by games. They "play" them (meaning they interact with them with a specific kind of self reflective and consentful attention).

There have been a lot of games trying to capture that golden-era of 3D platformers, but I feel like this is the first one to nail the lighthearted and fun side of playing them while offering enough room for hardcore players to have fun. Cute frogs!
