Hahaha! Needing to declutter my head is part of why I have like 7 WIPS at any given time 😭. I'm also constantly imagining alternate things I could have done with my life because I've really backed myself into a corner. I've been told this is Maladaptive Daydreaming and is not "normal". OH WELL 🤣

I do dabble with art, but my skills are very very limited. I pretty much am only decent at drawing the monsters I come up with. I started out life wanting to be an artist, then tried to make it my job, and destroyed the passion. Only just now getting back into the swing of it!

FUNNY ENOUGH it was inspired by King Crimson's "The Court of The Crimson King". I know that song is about the cold war apparently but it's VERY Lovecraftian without that context and deeply unsettled me the first time I heard it lol

Certain songs put me in the mood to write X WIP over Y if they make me think of a specific character from that work, too. In addition to having playlists for my stories, sometimes I'll have playlists for an individual character, too.

SO. Songs like Underground, by Harvey Danger - I'd listen to that vein if I'm writing a real ominous scene or character. If I'm trying to capture an aura like, summer vacation, I'd listen to bands I was SUPER into during that time of my life, and so on.

I have to explain, first, how I listen to music because it's apparently weird. Every song I hear triggers an involuntary daydream. Essentially my brain generates music videos for everything. I cannot passively listen to music. It just summons too much in me lol. 🧵
