So do I. But does that really matter when those who are inclined cause such carnage? Some things are worth sacrificing for the commons of a civil society.
Make buying and owning a gun harder than getting a drivers license. Multiple steps. Baseline pass a written and physical test.

According to an article in @theguardian.com there are 2000 guns bought legally every week. So while it is still rare, more guns = more gun violence and there is always a tipping point. Hopefully this will shock state governments and feds into closing some of the loop holes being exploited.

Yes. And over past decades gun laws have fragmented and getting guns has become easier with thousands of guns purchased legally every week.
Western Australia recently doubled down on their laws and hopefully others may now follow suit.
