Speaking about Junbesi, this charming village — often likened to Rivendell from The Lord of the Rings — rests quietly among hills. It’s home to Thubtencholing Monastery, one of the region’s largest, where monks chant beneath prayer flags. Junbesi offers a rare stillness, where time slows down.

Pikey Peak (4,065 m) offers one of the widest Himalayan panoramas—from Kanchenjunga in the east to Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, and Dhaulagiri in the west. It's reached by a short, moderate trek in the Lower Everest region, with the traditional village of Junbesi nearby.
