My day. Joined my AMSatUF friends to tour the NOAA Aircraft Operations Center, guided by the very kind Nick Underwood.
This plane flies very high to collect data from the whole troposphere. This plane flies lower to collect data within the lower portion of a hurricane. This plane doesn’t fly into hurricanes. Turns out NOAA’s aircraft help with a lot of research, much of which has to do with the ocean, fish, and biological life parts of the mission. This plane also doesn’t fly into hurricanes.
