This is a thing that people could learn from taking classes in the social sciences: the tight social & professional networks of elites globally, along with the ways they use those networks to shape the economic & political environments in which the rest of us live, have been documented for decades.

"Made a $12 billion dollar loss" is such weird framing. And yet, spinning a loss as something productive seems extremely consistent.
