So sorry to hear. It's the hardest thing. Lots of love to you.

I also dug it. Probably my favorite of his by a fair margin.

I have like 6 or 7 mechanical keyboards including a couple I built from different chassis with custom switches. Welcome to the club, the rabbit hole knows no end.

For sure. Originally I wasn't sure if the universes needed combining, but it quickly came to make sense and made things more fun.

A slice of toast with a lot of butter and a little bit of honey. 善光寺 (Zenkouji), a big-ass cool temple in Nagano, Japan where you can go into a pitch-black underground tunnel to try to come out the other side, but you can't bring a light. The music video for Lorna Shore's "Prison of Flesh."

High up there for me too. Which was a surprise, because I thought the first one was awful. But Control and Alan Wake II are phenomenally good and I want to spend a lot more time in that universe.

I hesitate to call it "good", but it does some cool and surprising stuff that it really doesn't seem like it would do from the title and the poster, or even the beginning of the film. Maybe a middling movie overall, but one with some cool stuff in it. #horrorwatch

That's a weird one. I'd forgotten how weird. I feel like there's a better and more coherent film buried in there. Get rid of the worm rape and bad sound effects for the director's cut. Some of the acting is pretty decent despite the script too. Either way, it's kind of a neat movie? #horrorwatch

Funny, I don't recall Toys R Us selling pyramid toys that forced me to grapple with physical manifestations of my worst fears. I just bought LEGO. Humanity isn't very deep, I guess. #horrorwatch

Hey did you catch that deep subtext where he literally looks at a clone of himself and says "I'm fighting myself", did you catch that very not-spoon-fed thematic flourish? Did you get that's about self-mastery on the path to enlightenment? I sure hope so, or you're not very deep, man. #horrorwatch

Okay that got a belly laugh out of me, well done.
November 16, 2025 at 3:06 AM
Like to be fair, those are elements of the movie's themes, and this part of the film is where that starts to kick off; but bruh come onnnn. #horrorwatch

Yeah, I was in the middle of typing the very long alt text for my other post when you said that. It really does feel like it popped out of another, much worse movie. #horrorwatch

Like I doubt anyone thought they were making a masterpiece, but that scene feels like it came from a different movie. In that spirit, I have to share this review. Can you all grasp the very deep concepts of self-mastery and the nature of enlightenment foundational to Galaxy of Terror? #horrorwatch

Okay I remember this part as well. This is very much the part that made me say "ah, yes, Roger Corman." Feels wildly out of place in a film more serious than its advertising probably led people to believe. Nothing about it seems very salacious until the worm eats her clothes off. #horrorwatch

I think the girl who explicitly does not like worms is about to have a very bad time. #horrorwatch

I had the same thought the first time I watched it.

It is.

Hahaha, these fucking sound effects, oh my christ. I did not remember those. It's like a kid with a tub of Gak. (Anyone remember that garbage?) #horrorwatch
